So how long is a year, really..

So here is the new skinny. Your Last Rights has just recorded a new album slated for a spring release. More on that as it unfolds. Place Position recently recorded a demo at AV Studio aka The Loft in Trenton, OH. It is available for a listen/download on their site.

Mount Storm Park is currently constructing a multi-faceted online booklet for its first full length Through the Dark. These electronic liner notes contain original text, photography, and other media running together with songs from the album to provide a unique listening, viewing, and reading experience. Mount Storm is currently researching ways to put smells on the internet for full-on faux-reality immersion. Stay tuned.

In the spirit of passing along songs in the most direct way possible, a number of community-affiliated artists will be playing from the comfort of a well lit, not at all smokey, completely unironic and unhip apartment. Don’t call it a show. It’s a gathering of friends sharing food and songs, ideas, and certainly no small amount of bullshitting. It’s what we do, boo.

Capt. Dangerfoot, Dewey Decimal, Jackie Futon, Matt Hosay, Mt. Storm Park, Dustin Smith from Okay Lindon, and probably others will be passing it around. Come hang out.

I think it could be summed up with evolution. Plug in, or unplug. Out with the old, in with the new. Keep on keeping on. And numerous other catch phrases for personal comfort in this year of 2010. No promises. Just community and the ebb and flow of each others company. Far or near. Do you have anything to add. Because with or without your support, Loft Co stands loosely connected. That and the website is paid for. Better have fun.

Among Thieves’ “Dear Disillusioned Midwest” is now available for online order. Orders will ship on Monday, Nov. 16th. Also the release show set for this Saturday is officially canceled. Perhaps another show will be set for a later date. Check the records page to order.

Two Important Moments plus

For starters GOODWEN plays an official reunion show for the first time since January 2007. Joining them will be THE INVISIBLE STRINGS, with their first show since Matt Hosay returned from Austin, TX in late August. It will be a night to remember and surely a night one mustn’t miss.. They will be performing at the new Loft Coffeehouse in Middletown. No relation to us.. but that we exist in this town together. And we show nothing but love and support for what they do.

AND THEN… after years of quiet pondering. The cd’s are in stock.. A release show is scheduled. And AMONG THIEVES more officially releases “Dear Disillusioned Midwest” next month to the general public. More news on that to come.
